Project 365: Day 112

21 Apr

On Day 43 I posted a photo of me mixing the ingredients for me and Tom’s homebrew “lager” (now ale for some unknown reason). We were supposed to bottle this 10 days after putting it in the bucket but after discovering the cost of beer bottles was far greater than we ever expected, the plans went on hold.

Finally, 59 days late, we have bottled part of our beer, using old juice bottles which means it probably won’t keep for long but it saved us so much money. I’m pleased to say it tastes OK and I’m drinking a glass whilst  writing this.

We sterilized the bottles, their caps and the syphon equipment and managed to successfully fill all eight bottles (all that we could find) without any spillages. Job well done, we’re just not sure what to do with the rest of it.

Go to http://www.makeyourowndrinks.co.uk/ to get your own make you own drinks kit – they also have wine and cider.

can’t complain about that… I have a friend that started brewing, I was saving bottles for, and now he does not need them, wish i could teleport you 4 empty cases of 12oz bottles.

That would really help. I’m drinking this beer fast so I have spare bottles to bottle the rest of the beer.
