Beat 200g butter with 125g caster sugar in a bowl until pale and fluffy. Add 1 egg and continue beating until combined. Mix in 250g sifted plain flour and 1/2 tap baking powder until it forms a dough. Divide into 3 balls, wrap in cling film and chill for at least 2 hours.
Preheated oven to 200C/gas 6. Combine 3 tbsp sugar with 2 tsp cinnamon in a bowl. Roll out a ball of dough and cut with heart shaped cut (or any other shape you want). Line on baking tray. Repeat with other dough balls.
Lightly beat an egg and brush hearts. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden. Cool on wire rack.
